Civil engineering outfit Jones Bros has kicked off construction of REG Windpower’s 12MW Mynydd Portref wind farm in South Wales.
Work at the site located between Brynna and Hendreforgan in Rhondda Cynon Taff is expected to take around 12 months.
The project features 2MW Gamesa G80 turbines with a tip height of 100 metres.
The North Wales company’s work will include laying 3.8km of site tracks, while contractors will undertake cabling and the construction of a turbine control centre.
